    If this promising material is lighter yet 5 times stronger than steel, why isn't the entire car made of it? Especially if it were an EV. But Nano Material should never be intentionally added to any food!

    This so called new plastic has been around for over a hundred years. This is all smoking mirrors in my opinion. Why you may ask?😅 is because these so called Scientists are constantly focused on the wrong products. Instead of putting their efforts into this stupid crap why not redesign Engines to run on Hydrogen Gas? Hell they have all the Fuel needed to operate their JetSky around them?????😢 It’s so easily done.😅 This is not where the Money is at, or regulation from Corporations and Governments want allow this to happen. 😂 believe me folks, Hydrogen production is easy. I’ve been asked why I haven’t designed a Hydrogen Gas Engine? I have and quite a few too.😊 But can’t sell because the same crap others go through 😢 I really don’t think dying should be a part something that improves the lives of folks that really need a way out of costly everyday life, like Gasoline ⛽️, Natural Gas, Propane or Coal. Anyone who threatens to interrupt this would soon be gone. 😢

    I was hopeful and excited until you showed people chopping down forests and adding this artificial material to food. Someday everyone will get it. We are chronically poisoning ourselves with the things we eat, processed carbohydrates at the top of the list. Meanwhile we continue to deforest the Earth and plant saplings while pretending it's a fair trade with future generations. I can't understand how twigs will replace forests in an ongoing, balanced way over generations. Somebody needs to show the math using real data before I'll believe this ubiquitous counterintuitive assertion.

    It's a DOCUMENTARY or a movie, it is not a film. :-) You do not film, you video. Film, filming, and filmmaking are the most misused words in the industry. 🙂 Digital Video and film require different skill sets. Having DIFFERENT historical and TECHNOLOGICAL timelines spanning 150 years. Have pride and knowledge of the gear we use including the words that describe what we do. Our tools are Digital Video, Non-linear, and CGI. We are moviemakers, not filmmakers. We do what film wished it could. We are Videographers and/or cinematographers. 🙂 We video or are videoing, we do not film. That's the other RARE professionals who know how to use film and film cameras, like an ARRIFLEX 435 Panavision R-200 and Steenbeck flatbed film editors. Know the difference and have a better understanding of the craft. You will also stand out in an industry polluted with point-and-shoot "pros". Respect to you.✌♥

    This is a start in the right direction, but a long way off. They are still combining plastic with the cellulose nanofibers made from trees. How can this be a solution to our plastic problem? We need to find total replacements for plastic. And what about all those trees being cut down and treated with chemicals to make paper in order to make this stuff? And what is going on with that bread? Are you guys serious about putting chemically treated CNF into our food. Please don't do that! We are already too sick from the toxic levels of ingredients in our food.

    This is all a bit confusing: "five times as strong as steel" presumably means "five times as strong as the same weight of steel". But that would make it as strong as carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is around forty times as strong as the same weight as cellulose fiber by some comparisons I've seen so I'm missing something here.

      Why would anyone compare them by weight? If you have need to make a car door, it is the size and shape you'll look at. Wood is much, much lighter than steel at the same size.

    • @chrisgrill6302
      @chrisgrill6302 День назад

      @@CaptainSnackbeardI find your question really, really odd: weight considerations are hugely important in engineering. Not just in the totally obvious fields like aerospace but for cars, boats, bicycles, sports equipment, musical instruments, architectural materials, military equipment... anything that moves or regularly has to be lifted in fact. I'm building a carbon fiber sailing vessel myself and keeping it as lightweight as possible is critical to its success.

    • @CaptainSnackbeard
      @CaptainSnackbeard День назад

      @@chrisgrill6302 weight is important, still secondary to form in most applications. You can't make humans smaller or larger to suit forms, and engineering is (usually) about serving humans somehow. Presumably your boat can't be made 5x or 40x smaller / larger so you can achieve some ideal weight. For example unless you have some kind of hydrofoil thing going on, then without a long keel it doesn't matter how light you make it, it won't go as fast a because of displacement/hull speed limitations. As to the comparison, Carbon fiber is expensive, difficult to work with, is human made, and creates waste. Wood is cheap, grows all over, is easy to work with, and is itself a carbon sink.

  • @kanenomoja
    @kanenomoja 4 дня назад

    Let’s not forget that the vat majority (most) of those CO2 emissions come from China and India - who countries that show ZERO actual interest in doing anything other than increase their emissions. Also, trees and plants actually NEED CO2. So, there’s that. Oh, and don’t forget that scientists thought CO2 was going to boil us, then freeze us, now boil use or cause “climate change” which means what exactly? Something will be different and they think CO2 emissions by humans is the cause. Well, the climate’s been changing ever since the earth formed and for something like 99% of that time it was very different than today and much of the time would have presented very harsh living conditions in many places. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that the climate will change, no matter how much homage and tribute you pay to Greta, the WEF, and the Dems. The Earth could give a rats *ss.

      Just the new 25% lighter engine cover. This is a rather in-depth exploration of a somewhat mundane, but apparently somewhat novel composite material. I don't know. It's an odd little film. Injection molded fiber reinforced composites are certainly not new, but it's interesting to get a rather in-depth look at this hyper specific variant that someone apparently thinks is really important.
